The mini substations are designed to supply long distance public lighting networks from Low Voltage networks (LV from 120 to 415 V) by stepping-up the voltage to Medium Voltage (MV from 1 to 6.9 kV). The substations are also designed to supply networks from Medium Voltage networks (MV 1 to 6.9 kV) by stepping-down the voltage to Low Voltage (LV 120 to 415 V). The LV and MV coils of the PTI substations are varnish impregnated and the transformers are delivered in an aluminium or a steel enclosure.
